Hello, everyone. I’m an awful blogger. It’s nothing new.
There has been so much going on and I can’t find the time to be consistent about blogging. All the spare time I have goes to writing and promoting.
I think last time I blogged about a Giveaway or about FU Cancer being available on NetGalley, so it’s been a couple of months.
Let me see if I can make it short and sweet and update you on what’s going on.
Oooohhh, I know! I’ll structure this blog post like the Ten Duel Commandments from Hamilton – also known as numbering one through ten. Original, right?
I became addicted to the musical HAMILTON. Yes, I joined the millions who belong to this “cult”. Who knows if I’ll ever have the chance to see the show in New York City, but I’m willing to wait for it (only addicts will get my reference). By the time The Grammys rolled around, I was already in deep. As soon as the soundtrack made its way to Spotify and Amazon Prime, I was a goner (Spotify at work, Prime on the phone). I didn’t buy it because I was waiting for…the vinyl. The Hamilton 4-vinyl set is coming out in EIGHT DAYS. Did I mention I can’t wait?
I gave the Couch-to-5k another try (I’m not writing C25K because that’s confusing if you don’t know what that is). I’m on week 7, and it’s kicking my butt, but I jogged for 20 straight minutes the other day for the first time ever.
The biggest motivator has been my dog, Sweetie Belle. She literally can’t wait for me to get home and put on my workout clothes. She’s sorely disappointed on the days that I tell her, “We’re not going anywhere.” Do you want to know what I’m listening to while I’m busting my ass? HAMILTON. I told you I was addicted. Also, who knew show tunes would make great running songs, right? My Shot, Right Hand Man, Guns and Ships, Yorktown and Non-stop make great running songs.
I’m writing my fourth romance novel. It’s called Not About Love and it’s a spinoff of This Love. It’s about Ally and Boyd, two characters who have commitment issues and are forced by fate to…make it work. It can be read as a standalone. Here’s the blurb:
Strong and independent,
Wrong for each other in every way.
But the heat, the passion, the pull.
When we were together,
The chaos turned to desire,
I was his.
He was mine.
For the time-being.
No strings attached.
That's how Boyd Rivers wanted it.
And exactly how I liked it.
But sometimes, fate has other plans...
Can it really be not about love?
Not About Love is not coming out until August 18th but I’m having a cover reveal on April 18th. This is just so I will have more time to prepare for release and toy with graphics (so I don’t have to do everything one month before release!).
Because This Love and Not About Love go hand in hand, the covers need to be similar. Therefore, This Love is getting a cover makeover! I love the current cover – my brother made it! – but it was too big of a challenge to come with something similar for Not About Love, so it’s easier to change them both. Samantha of Samantha Leigh Design did a great job and I can’t wait to show everyone!
FU Cancer has 53 reviews! *Throws confetti*
If you haven’t reviewed it, please do so. I know that most people have trouble writing reviews. One line, one sentence is sufficient. Reviews help
I hired a narrator for the FU Cancer audiobook! I thought I’d never find the right person, but thankfully, she submitted an audition! I can’t wait for you all to hear the finished product. I believe Jenn is going to do great! It should be ready by the end of May/early June.
I wrote a guest blog post on Live Love Read YA. It’s titled, “Don’t Stop Believing: My First Year in Self-Publishing. If you’re an aspiring writer or you wondered what’s it like for an indie writer, it’s an insightful read.
I've decided to put my first romance, Prude, available for #FREE on all platforms! This is the story that made me want to start writing and that made me fall in love with storytelling. This is the book that forced me to put myself out there and gave me the chance to meet readers, authors, and bloggers. Who knows, I might not have three books under my belt if I hadn't forced myself to write the damn book.
So why am I offering this book for free?
Because chances are that if you'll read it and you'll like it,
WE'LL BE BFFs!
If you don't, we'll each go our own way, no questions asked. ;)
